It All Started With Mollie Moo
Mollie was our confident,
independent, beautiful Labradoodle.
She loved being outside, exploring and doing her own thing. She would happily play all day with the right dog, but she was particular about her friends and only truly relaxed in smaller groups.
When we looked for daycare to help her socialise, everything we found seemed to be either indoors for most of the day or one large group of dogs together. We knew neither would make Mollie feel comfortable.
So, with guidance from canine behaviour professionals, we created the daycare we couldn’t find for her. From the woodland setting and carefully planned entrances to small friendship groups, enrichment and proper rest, Hounds was designed around what dogs genuinely need.
Mollie spent just over a year enjoying Hounds, making friends and even finding herself a little toy boy in Murphy.
We lost her in September 2025, but everything she taught us still shapes Hounds today.

What are your operating hours and prices?
We are open from 7 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.
Weekend closed for birthday parties and events.
Prices start from £24 for half a day and from £30 for a full day.
How do you ensure the safety of the dogs in your care?
Safety is our priority. We use secure fencing, surveillance, trained staff and temperament assessments to make sure dogs are carefully matched into suitable groups and closely supervised throughout the day.
What are the requirements for my dog to be admitted into your daycare?
All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations, including rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella. Your dog does not need to be neutred however we do ask that they do not attend when in heat. All dogs must have a settling in session, which is a two hour session for us to see how they get on.
Where are we?
We’re tucked away in peaceful woodland in Lount, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch—just a six-minute drive from M42 Junction 13. As the woodland doesn’t have its own postcode, the closest postcode is LE65 1RS. We’ll provide clear directions before your tour.
Will my dog get individual attention?
Absolutely! Our dogs spend time in small, carefully managed groups so our team can get to know each dog, monitor how they’re feeling and give them the individual care and attention they need throughout the day.
Will I receive updates about my dog's day?
Absolutely! You’ll receive a daily report covering meals, naps, toilet breaks, activities, walks, general notes and which carer spent time with your dog, along with photos and videos from their day.
What if I’m worried my dog won’t cope with daycare?
Every dog is introduced at their own pace. We closely monitor how they’re feeling, gradually introduce them to the environment, carers and suitable dogs (one by one), and adjust their experience to help them feel safe, comfortable and confident.
If they are very nervous we can stage their introductions. We have worked with lots of very nervous doggies and have worked with them at their own pace, and they are now full time day care doggies! The owners have also noticed a huge difference at home and when on walks too - all-round win!
What happens after the woodland tour?
If you feel Hounds could be right for your dog, we’ll arrange a two-hour settling-in session. This gives them time to meet the team, explore gradually and be introduced carefully to suitable dogs. We’ll let you know how they got on and discuss the best next step for them—there’s no pressure to commit on the day.
